Emergency Skills & Midwifery Volunteerism in Developing Countries.

WHO WILL BENEFIT: Midwives, doctors, nurses, doulas, childbirth educators and students with a desire to address the unique needs of poor mothers and babies in the developing world will find this seminar to be tremendously helpful. Focus is on updating skills you already have to fit situations of poverty, and to identify new best-practices in obstetrics worldwide.

COST: $300.00 if paid by 7/19/11 ($350.00 if paid after 7/19/11).  Participants are responsible for their own travel, food, and lodging costs.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION: This week-end intensive seminar will be taught by midwives who have worked extensively in poverty settings in Asia. Updated best-practices in maternity care for Asia, Africa, and Latin America will be shared. Classes will combine personal experience with the latest research from the International community working for Safe Motherhood and Newborn Survival, including WHO, order ativan mastercard UNICEF, USAID, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Lots of short videos from around the globe help cement the teachings.
