Tracy

midwife2Tracy Lawson-Allen has enjoyed a lifelong interest and devotion to mothers and babies. She was inspired by the birth of her son in 2000, a hospital birth with a midwife, to serve others in childbirth. She left that experience realizing that she hadn’t been sick or in need of hospital care, and most of all with a sense of awe and joy about birth, breastfeeding, and motherhood. On her drive home from the hospital she was amazed at the thought of all the women she knew who had given birth and what an amazing journey they had made, regardless of where or how they birthed. She began her midwifery studies shortly after her son’s birth and subsequently birthed her daughters with the Andaluz midwives, one at Andaluz and one at home. She believes that birth is an instinctive, transformative and natural process and is passionate about the availability of informed choice in prenatal, birth and postpartum care. She is grateful for her life as a mother and midwife and wife to her very musical husband. Tracy has been attending births since 2002, has had the joy of teaching childbirth classes at Andaluz, and looks forward to supporting each new family on their journey to and through birth.
