Sex After Birth
Friday July 24th, 6:00pm-9:00pm
The 6-week postpartum visit rarely covers what you actually need to know about returning to sex. (“Everything looks great, see you next year!” is not a plan.)
Pain, dryness, low desire, and body image shifts are common — but they’re not inevitable, and they’re definitely not something you should just tolerate because nobody gave you a better option.
In this free workshop, Dr. Emily Spaeth, pelvic floor PT and trauma informed professional, breaks down what’s actually happening in your body after birth — and why “just give it time” is not the clinical guidance you deserve.
You’ll leave knowing:
Why your hormones are basically running a chaos experiment on your desire, arousal, and comfort right now
Why the 6-week clearance is a starting line, not a finish line
What to actually do about perineal and cesarean scars (yes, we’re going there, conversationally, no we won’t be taking any clothes off)
How your pelvic floor is involved in all of this and what to do if something feels off or just… wrong
How to return to intimacy on your own timeline without feeling broken or behind
Communication tools to rebuild connection and pleasure in your relationship
Whether you’re pregnant, freshly postpartum, or you’re years in and still wondering why nobody warned you… pull up a chair.
Are partners welcome?
This one’s just for you. No partners, no performing okayness, no editing yourself. Just a room full of people who grew and birthed a baby, led by someone who has genuinely heard it all and will not flinch at any of your questions.
If your partner wants in on this conversation — Emily has resources and classes for them too, just reach out. And if you’d like to take a version of this workshop together, get on the waitlist for our upcoming couples session!
